A mini-reunion
Posted Saturday, January 16, 2010 02:53 PM

From Johnie Huckeba:

I have reserved Two (2) dates for Camp Piney Woods! One is Sunday, May 2, 2010 and the other is Saturday, May 15, 2010.
We would have the facility for the entire day and evening. We would be responsible for cleanup and removal of our trash. Yet to be worked out would be a caterer for lunch and/or dinner.
My current thoughts is to try to have some type of cordial/coctail get together with hors d'oeuvres at maybe the Plaza on Friday or Saturday evening and then the get together at Camp Piney Woods on Saturday or Sunday with lunch catered. Diner would not be a preplanned event but rather as individuals and/or groups chose.
Ann Deason and Sharon Norris Herring are setting up an account for the deposits and expenses in the next couple of days.
I suggest that everyone who plans on attending send them $25.00 to get the ball rolling and then as soon as possible we can get an exact budget and individual cost set-up.
I am looking forward to putting eyeballs on each of you, hugging your neck and/or shaking your hand as the case may be or both and having a great time with you.
We have 3 years to organize and plan our Big 50th Celebration so lets get started and have some fun together doing it!

May 15 sounds good to me for a planning event, a kind of "come if you can."My only concern is waiting until 2013 for the big event.  Would love to see something maybe in the spring, 2011.  Or are you guys holding up better than I am!  Whatever we do, it will be such a joy to see you.  I love our exchanges on fb, memories, pictures, etc.  Getting my Medicare card last week was a wake-up call to my tender age, but my classmates kept me laughing so hard about it, that the moment passed quickly.  Love to all of you.  See you soon.

Based on the responses from you and the YMCA's policies on reservations.

SATURDAY...MAY 15, 2010...IS THE DATE FOR OUR MINI-REUNION. We plan to have a cordial/cocktail kickoff event on Friday evening the 14th at a place yet to be determined....probably the Plaza. The plan is for a casual day at Camp Piney Woods beginning about 10:00AM.  A day of visitation, for getting reaquainted and catching up on children and grandchildren, and what each has been doing since last we saw you. We will have the facility for the entire day and evening and those who want can take whatever time their hearts desire. Lunch will be catered. We also plan to discuss what we want to do for Our up coming Big 50th, get some committees setup and in general start the planning. Bring your Husband, Wife, Best Friend, Significant Other, etc. relax, spend time with each other, walk the grounds and enjoy! We also suggest you bring folding chairs, recliners or whatever for relaxing outdoors. We have not planned for a dinner event. Please send an initial check, made out to "THS Class of 63", for $25.00 to Sharon Norris Herring and/or Ann Deason at their home address. WE WANT TO SEE ALL OF YOU, SO IF POSSIBLE, PLEASE PLAN ON ATTENDING!

Dear Friends: I am playing with this new program, cant wait to get my ipad.  It better last til I am 95 like that new roof I am getting next week.  Pray for us.  We had roof trauma after Hugo and I get PTSD just thinking about it.  I hope you all have a happy Easter and cant wait to see you.  There will be two of me for the last one you saw, so do not be shocked--I love the Tville Museum web site and will leave some things for them on Friday.  Peace and Blessings to each of you.  I am doing a Good Friday worship service at my hospital and will like that. Class of 63 is about to arise and renew in May for fun, hope, love.  Geni
