We are sad to announce the loss of our friend and classmate Ray Fletcher. The following obituary appeared in the Thomasville newspaper several days ago:

Billy Ray Fletcher

March 27, 1945 - August 18, 2020

Graveside services for Billy Ray Fletcher, 75, of Thomasville will be held 9:00 am, Friday, August 21, 2020 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Rev. Lee Waller will officiate. Mr. Fletcher passed away August 18, 2020 at Archbold Hospital. Born March 27, 1945 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Leroy Franklin Fletcher and Lillie Mae Williams Fletcher. On September 17, 1971, he married the love of his life Pamela Aileen Miller Fletcher, who survives. Mr. Fletcher was a 1963 graduate of Thomasville High School and a proud member of the football team. After high school, he graduated from Birdwood College and then served in the United States Army. Mr. Fletcher spent his career working in the manufactured home industry serving as sales manager for a manufacturer. He was a member of Dawson Street Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and taught Sunday school for the Through the Bible class. In his retirement Mr. Fletcher published a book, 'The Number One Thing with God", that shared his message about faith and preparing oneself for an eternity with God. He was a man who loved the Lord and anyone who knew him knew that he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved working in his yard and was an avid football fan. Other survivors include his children, Kimberly Fletcher Jacobs and husband Jason of Moultrie and Michael Ray Fletcher and wife Becki of Thomasville; grandchildren, Scott Jacobs, George Jacobs, Mary Madelyn Jacobs, Isabella Jacobs, Fletcher Jacobs, Chase Miller, Lorin Fletcher, Austin Fletcher, Nathan Fletcher, Nicholas Fletcher, Max Fletcher, Savannah Matherly, Kaylee Matherly and Ronnie Matherly; brothers, Rudolph Fletcher and wife Barbara, Ellis Fletcher and wife Mahala, twin sister Faye King and husband Don, all of Thomasville.
